Twin Oaks 5 v Copthorne 4 (Cup-26/9/09)

In a break from the league Twin Oaks were paired in the cup against one of the teams that pipped them to a promotion place last season, Copthorne. In a thrilling game Twin Oaks with some resilient team play managed to overcome the opposition and run out 5-4 match winners.

On the score sheet today were Kieran who netted two goals with Taylor with Reece and Stephano each slotting in a goal. The man of the match award went to Kieran.

Storrington & Sullington Vipers 2 v Twin Oaks 22 (League-3/10/09)

A return to league action and an emphatic display in this away game saw Twin Oaks hit the back of the net twenty-two times. In a totally one-sided affair the only disappointment of the match was that the team were unable to keep a clean sheet, allowing the home side to score two goals.

Goal scorers on the day were double hat-trick hero Taylor with six, Reece with his first league goals of the season scored four, Stephano and Daniel each achieved a hat-trick, Tahel scored twice as did Ceejay. Kieran and Michael.J added to the score with one a piece. Man of the match went to Taylor.

The meeting of the top two saw first placed Twin Oaks away against second placed Upper Beeding. In a closely fought competitive match it was Twin Oaks, through some excellent battling football that ended the match victorious with a 3-1 win.

Although on the day Taylor was the only Twin Oaks scorer with a hat-trick of goals it was an overall fine team performance that enabled the side to cement their position at the top of the table. Man of the match for his driving midfield display was Michael.J.

Twin Oaks 6 v Albury Eagles 4 (League-7/11/09)

After a few weeks break the next game of the season found Twin Oaks at home against the now second placed side Albury Eagles. In another tough and competitive match against one of their old advisories it was Twin Oaks that won the day and the game with a triumphant 6-4 victory.

Twin Oaks 4 v Storrington & Sullington Vipers 5 (Cup-14/11/09)

In this cup game Twin Oaks were matched against the team that they had beaten in the league by a resounding twenty two goals to two. This game however was to be a very different affair, in a totally absorbing, nail-biting and closely fought contest played on a very heavy pitch and in adverse weather conditions it was the away side that progressed through to the next round of the cup by winning the match 5-4.

Cup scorers on the day were Reece with two while Billy and Taylor managed to score one each. Man of the match went to Alex for a powerful midfield performance.

Twin Oaks 3 v Dorkinian Colts 1 (League-28/11/09)

Next up in the league were Dorkinians Colts. Playing at home on a boggy pitch a battling team performance and never say die attitude saw Twin Oaks maintain their position at the top of the table with a fine 3-1 win.

Match scorers were Taylor with two goals and Reece with one goal. Man of the match went to Alex for another tireless midfield display.

Twin Oaks 13 v Kirdford 1 (League-12/12/09)

In what turned out to be the last game of the calendar year, this scheduled home league game was switched, due to a water-logged pitch, to the oppositions ground. In hindsight Kirdford probably wished that the game had not gone ahead as Twin Oaks produced their best performance of the season so far. With some excellent individual performances and an incredible team display Twin Oaks totally outplayed and over-ran their opponents, winning the game 13-1 to ensure that the year ended with the team sitting pretty on top of the table.

Twin Oaks scorers were Alex with a hat-trick, Reece, Stephano, Waynes and Dan all managed to get two with Tahel and Billy scoring one each. The man of the match nomination went to Waynes.

East Grinstead Meads 2 v Twin Oaks 2 (League-06/02/10)

After eight weeks without kicking a ball in anger Twin Oaks played their first game of the New Year away against East Grinstead Meads. In the opening match of the season Twin Oaks had scored nine times without a response against today's opponents. Twin Oaks played well below par dropping their first points of the season in a well fought but lack lustre 2-2 draw.

Scorers on the day were Billy and Taylor with one goal each. Man of the match for a fine defensive display went to Michael.S.

Royal United 1 v Twin Oaks 2 (League-06/03/10)

After yet another unscheduled break in the season due to a combination of frozen and waterlogged pitches Twin Oaks returned to winning ways with a battling performance away against Royal United. In a game that involved some controversial refereeing decisions, a saved penalty and a yellow card Twin Oaks managed to dig deep and produce a 2-1 win to keep them in top spot of the league.

Today’s scorers were Waynes and Reece who scored a goal each. Man of the match was awarded to Ceejay for his outstanding defensive performance.

Twin Oaks 9 or 10 v Storrington & Sullington Vipers 1 (League-13/03/10)

Earlier in the season Twin Oaks had knocked in twenty-two goals against today's opponents, but in a subsequent cup match against the same side lost 5-4, so this encounter could have been a tricky fixture to predict for the home side. However there were no worries about the outcome of this game as Twin Oaks, after a slow start, ran out convincing winners. The only worry on the day was how many goals did we actually score, was it nine or was it ten.

For the purpose of the league the result was recorded as 9-1 win, but we all know it was 10-1.

Today’s scorers were Reece 3, Billy 2, Tahel 1, Stephano 1, Taylor 1, Alex 1 and Adama who scored his first goal of the season. Man of the match award went to Damien for a committed performance.

Albury Eagles 2 v Twin Oaks 6 (League-20/03/10)

In a third against first place clash it was table topping Twin Oaks that ran-out worthy 6-2 winners. During a weekend in which their closest title challengers, second placed side Upper Beeding, only manage to play-out a draw, an outstanding all-round team performance saw Twin Oaks all but seal the divisional title.

On a terrific playing surface even the rain soaking weather conditions could not mar the enjoyment of seeing the away side turn in a brilliant effort in one of their best displays of the season. Producing an outstanding overall team performance meant that there were several candidates for man of the match. Jamie and Reece were among the players that produced their best, but the award went to Alex for his non-stop midfield display.

Today’s scorers were Reece 3, Taylor 2, Stephano 1.

Twin Oaks 0 v Upper Beeding 1 (League-27/03/10)

With the league title all but virtually won Twin Oaks last home game of the season was against second placed side Upper Beeding. Both sides battled hard and on reflection, in a game of very few goal scoring opportunities, a draw may have been a fairer result. However with Twin Oaks failing to score for the first time this season it was the away side that went on to win the game by a solitary goal. The 1-0 loss put an end to Twin Oaks terrific unbeaten league record and handed the second promotion place in the league to Upper Beeding.

The only consolation was that with both sides each having only one game left each to play, Twin Oaks were all but crowned division champions. Only a last game of the season loss and a win by today’s opponents by at least 46 goals could prevent Twin Oaks from lifting the league trophy.

With few attacking chances and with no Twin Oaks scorers on the day it was not surprising that the man of the match vote went to a player who put in a fine defensive performance. This week the award went to Ceeja

Dorkinian Colts v Twin Oaks (League - April)

Unfortunately this turned out to be the match that never was. Already a previously cancelled fixture, Dorkinian Colts were unable to re-arrange a suitable date before the end of the season to play the game and therefore without a ball being kicked the points and with it the league title was handed to Twin Oaks.
