In its sixth year the Twin Oaks 5-a-side Challenge Cup was contested on an extremely warm day with 24 teams playing in over 65 matches at Burgess Hill Town Rugby Club.
The standard of football on display becomes higher and higher each year which means whoever makes it through to the group stages has definitely played some good football. Also it was good to see some new teams and new faces taking part this year.
AFC Shoreham 'A' and Polegate Town were the two teams that made their way through to the Final. AFC Shoreham 'A' made their way through the league stages, quarter final and semi final only conceding 4 goals.. The last game of the day was the most impressive final that spectators have seen so far.
AFC Shoreham 'A' breaking the deadlock and eventually winning the game 4-1.
One team finished the group stages with the maximum amount of points (15) AFC Shoreham 'A' with a goal difference of +10.
The next highest league winner Polegate Town who also made it through to the final finished with 13 points and a goal difference of +10 who made their way through the league stages, quarter final and semi final only conceding 1 goal.
The next highest league winners were Southwick Allstars & Franklin FC both with 12 points, Franklin with the highest goal difference of the whole tournament +22.
The second place positions in each league in the group stages were Grey Wanderers & C.C.S 2 both with 12 points and a goal difference of +8, Sporting Devils 'A' with 11 points and a goal difference of +9, White Hart FC with 10 points and a goal difference of +8

The most outstanding part of the tournament was the semi-final match between Polegate Town V White Hart FC which ended 0-0 which meant a penalty shootout. Each team took an amazing 15 penalties each. Polegate town being the eventual winners 15-14.

The Top GoalScorer Trophy within the group stages was won by Jerahl Hughes from Franklin FC who scored 11 goals.
