About The Club
Twin Oaks Football Club was established in 2005 and is based in Crawley, West Sussex.
Within the first year the club submitted its application and was successful in gaining The FA Chartered Standard Award.
The FA Charter Standard Programme provides recognition that clubs are well run and sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises a club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game - all of which are big priorities for both Twin Oaks FC and The FA.
Twin Oaks FC is one of only a few clubs in the area to be given this award and reflects the very high standards our Club Officers, Managers and Team Reps set.
The award is only available to clubs that can demonstrate they can meet high standards in:-
- Football Coaching - All Managers must hold formal FA Coaching Qualification
- Child Protection
- Equal Opportunities
- Administration
- Football Conduct
- Fair Play
In addition to the requirements of the FA Chartered Standard the club continues to strive to raise standards and has already implemented the following:
- All Club Committee Members, Managers and Volunteer Helpers undertake full Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure
- Managers are supported in undertaking additional coaching qualifications
- Managers maintain their knowledge through membership of Sussex County FA Coaches Association
- Each team has been allocated a fully qualified Referee
- Each team has been allocated a First-Aider
Twin Oaks started with one Under 12 age group team playing on Saturday's in the Horsham & District Youth Football League. Following on from their success more age group teams have been added.
The aim of the Club is to be a provider of football for the young community of Crawley, with the emphasis on skill development and competition in an active, fun and social environment.
The children and their welfare are at the centre of everything at the club. The club has an all inclusive policy regarding football training and focuses on technical and emotional development within a sporting framework rather than on simply winning at all costs
All Twin Oaks Teams are managed by F.A. qualified coaches, who are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) certified. All teams are insured for public liability, personal liability and they all follow an F.A. approved code of conduct.
Coaching for all age groups takes place at various local venues on a weekly basis throughout the football season and is an opportunity for players of all abilities to practice together and develop their individual and team skills.
Each age group, play competitive matches in one of the local Sussex leagues and each team also has the opportunity to play in cup competitions.
