After having played them in the Cup two weeks ago in a game that Twin Oaks had won
4-0, the two teams met again this time in the league.

The match started with Twin Oaks taking the game to the opposition. For the first few minutes of the game it was all Twin Oaks as they pushed forward looking for an early goal. Using the width of the pitch they were able to stretch the Partridge Green defence and from open play they created a number of chances to score.

Despite all of their good open play Twin Oaks first goal would come by way of a set-piece. A well worked corner found Bradley on the edge of the box and he was able to send a curling shot into net, beating the keeper at the near post. 5 minutes played and 1-0 to Twin Oaks.

Based on the opening exchanges you would have thought that this game should have turned into a one-sided affair, however the remainder of the first half saw the away side having most of the possession. Although not creating many chances of their own Partridge Green were able to contain and frustrate the Twin Oaks side, with the ball spending a lot of time in the air.

The score stayed at 1-0 as half-time approached. A strong team talk during the interval saw Twin Oaks come out for the second half determined to improve on their first half performance. Like the first half they started well and took the game to the visitors. The early attacks seemed to be a mirror image of the first half and it was not long before the home side were carving out some great chances of adding to their score.

After 5 minutes of the second half a beautifully crossed ball from Cameron deceived the Partridge Green defence and found the head of Ben at the far post. The ball bounced off of his head and into the net. Twin Oaks now 2-0 up.

This time, unlike the first half, the rest of the game belonged to Twin Oaks. Some superb movement and passing by the home team created a number of attempts on goal. Twin Oaks finally finished off the game 5 minutes from the end when a fierce shot by Jack from outside the box was tipped into his own net by the Partridge Green goalkeeper.

Twin Oaks finished the game 3-0 winners….

On the whole not one of Twin Oaks better performances of the season, but as they say in football a win is a win !
