It was warmer than expected today and I have come home with 3rd degree burns!
With my first tournament as Manager I cannot claim to have won the tournament but I think we claim to have won the fight!!!!
However we had quite a satisfactory day at the tournament, winning 3 games and drawing the other 4 whilst conceding only 1 goal all day.
An excellent performance therefore by Sean and all of his varied defensive colleagues, as well as the joint goalkeeping duties of Ryan and Elliott.
Some of the passing at times was superb pulling the opposition from pillar to post. I only wish we had not practiced shooting in the full sized goals on Thursday!
Still pass and move football is alive and kicking at Twin Oaks and long may it continue.
Top scorers for the day were Liam and Jason on his tournament debut, with 2 well taken goals. Although Liam was unfortunate not to get a third with a sublime chip that most spectators thought had crossed the line.
I suspect that we drew with the eventual winners, which was probably our worst performance of the day against Ranville Rangers.
In 2 weeks time hopefully we will be able to include those that were unable to play at short notice at the Worting Minors Tournament.
Other than that I would like to thank Darren for his taxi service, Paul for the free ice creams and Steve and June for their support, and June once again for photography assistance.
