An away match at the village location of Barns Green on a cold and damp December morning provided the setting for Twins Oak last game of 2005. Currently lying in second place in the league Twin Oaks were looking to enter the mid-season break on a high by gaining a win and maintaining the pressure on the league leaders. Barns Green, however, were looking for the win or even a draw that would move them off of the bottom of the table.

Straight from the kick-off Twin Oaks set the tempo for the game by immediately going on the attack. Twin Oaks quickly settled into their neat passing game and after only 2 minutes they found themselves 1-0 up. A rifled shot from Bradley sent the ball flying into the net off of the underside of the bar. The Barns Green goalkeeper never stood a chance.

From the resulting kick-off Twin Oaks continued to press forward and from a well worked exchange of passes down the left side of the pitch Cameron added the finishing touch to a superb move. It was now 2-0 to Twin Oaks after 4 minutes of play. Barns Green were finding it hard to get into the game and after only a further 3 minutes of play Twin Oaks made it 3-0 after a superb volleyed shot by Harry.

After this whirlwind start, the game settled down with Twin Oaks producing some quality football. At times the away supporters were treated to a standard of passing and team play that matched the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea , Liverpool and Man.Utd.

Twin Oaks were now totally dominating the game. Any threat of forward play by Barns Green was quickly broken up by the well organised and strong defence. The creative midfield was constantly able to supply the hardworking forwards who were able to attack from both the left and right hand sides of the pitch. In fact the whole team was playing as a complete unit.

After 24 minutes Twin Oaks added a fourth goal. Harry slotting the ball in the net at the second attempt for his second goal of the game. Harry completed his hat-trick 3 minutes later, Twins Oaks ending the half 5-0 up.

Twin Oaks continued to impress in the second half with Harry completing an impressive display by scoring his fourth goal after 15 minutes and his fifth goal of the game 2 minutes later.

To give credit to Barns Green they never gave up, they kept going and gained their reward with a consolation goal 19 minutes into the second half. The score now stood at 7-1 to Twin Oaks.

With only a few minutes left to play a powerful left foot shot from Grant (was it deflected in by Harry) added to the Twin Oaks tally with Bradley scoring in the last minute of the game.

*** Twin Oaks running out triumphant 9-1 winners ***

A totally impressive and enjoyable display of football by the whole of the Twin Oaks team, but special match reporter mentions must go to Harry whose individual five goal total (sorry Harry, the goal was credited to Grant) was a magnificent achievement and to Grant for his overall defensive play and accurate through passing….

Goalscorers - Harry 5, Bradley 2, Grant, Cameron
