Now sitting top of the table Twin Oaks next league game was at home against East Grinstead Town , a team that they had beaten 3-1 away in the opening game of the season. East Grinstead currently lying in third place in the table were always going to prove to be tough opposition and this match could go a long way to deciding who would claim the league title come the end of the season.

The game started with both sides eager not to give an early goal away, unfortunately for Twin Oaks that is just what happened. With only 2 minutes of the game played East Grinstead pushing forward managed to somehow find space in the Twin Oaks defence and score the opening goal. 1-0 East Grinstead , a disastrous start for the home side.

With Twin Oaks determined not to let the game slip away from them they went on the attack straight from the re-start. Piling forward they put pressure on the East Grinstead defence and their efforts were rewarded when Bradley managed to steer the ball into the net to level the score after 4 minutes of the match played. 1-1 the score.

After this exciting start the remainder of the first half proved to be a tough, cagey affair with neither side being able to gain an advantage. That was until 5 minutes before half-time when East Grinstead scored from a well worked attacking move. Twin Oaks now found themselves 2-1 down with half-time fast approaching.

A strong team talk from the manager at the break sent the Twin Oaks side out for the second half determined to gain a result from this game. However just like the first half the home side would find themselves letting in an early goal, unfortunately this strike would now put them two goals behind. 3 minutes of the second half played and the score stood at 3-1 to the away side. This would now prove to be a real test of character for the Twin Oaks players.

Twin Oaks now had to chase the game. Pushing forward, Twin Oaks began to apply a continued amount of pressure on the East Grinstead defence, but in turn its own defence were always wary of allowing the away side to catch them on the break. Spurred on by the home supporters Twin Oaks continued to attack and with 5 minutes of the match left Ben was able to find the net to make it 3-2.

A frantic last few minutes of the game were played out, but it was a case of too little, too late for the home side with East Grinstead winning the game 3-2.

Although not playing at their best it was a gallant effort by the Twin Oaks team, who later that day were to find out that other results in the league had gone in their favour and that they still remained in first place in the table....
