The previous game between these two sides saw Twin Oaks record one of their biggest wins of the season, when they beat Horsham Sparrows 9-0 in an away game. That match took place on a very sunny, late summer's morning, back in September. Today's game however was to take place in very windy and cold weather conditions, which were to prove difficult for both teams.

The game kicked-off with Horsham Sparrows, playing with the wind behind them, providing the early shock by scoring the opening goal after only 2 minutes. Like the weather the Twin Oaks seemed to have been caught cold.

The early goal by the away side seemed to provide the wake-up call that was needed and for the next 20 minutes of the game Twin Oak dominated the play. Two goals in quick succession by Bradley, the first after 8 minutes and the next on 10 minutes had turned the game around for the home side.

Despite the weather conditions Twin Oaks were playing some attractive football, with the whole team, defence, midfield and forwards working as one complete unit. Horsham Sparrows were finding it hard to keep hold of the ball and build up any form of attack, so it therefore came as a surprise when they managed to sneak an equaliser after 20 minutes of the first half. A cruel deflection took the ball past Aaron in the Twin Oaks goal, 2-2 the score. This remained the score until half-time, although Twin Oaks seemed to be in total control of the game.

The second half started with Twin Oaks now playing with the wind at their backs. Like the first half Twin Oaks were playing some brilliant football but they could just not seem to apply the finishing touch to some terrific attacking moves. For all of their possession the score still remained at 2-2, that was until half-way through the second period of the match, when Cameron latching onto a through ball was able to round the advancing keeper and calmly put the ball into the back of the net, 3-2 to Twin Oaks with 15 minutes of the game left to play.

Four minutes later Twin Oaks made it 4-2 when Harry blasted in a thunderbolt of a shot that the keeper stood no chance of stopping. A further goal on 25 minutes, a long range shot by Scott that, with the wind behind it, looped over the head of the Horsham Sparrows keeper into the net made it 5-2 to the home side.

In injury time at the end of the game Horsham Sparrows managed to score their third goal, but by this time the game was over. 5-3 the final score. Twin Oaks had again put on another impressive display of football....
