With the teams around us playing double-header games the previous Saturday, this mid-week last game of the season, saw us start the match in fifth place in the league. A win and another result going in our favour would mean that we could finish the season in third place. Against a Broadbridge Heath side that had previously beaten us in this season's home fixture,
Twin Oaks started well taking a well deserved lead after 10 minutes of play. Although enjoying the majority of the play the away side had a near scare just before half-time when a shot on goal by Broadbridge rattled the cross-bar. Commanding the game the away side needed a another goal to see off their opponents who were making every effort to get back into the game. This all important second goal was scored on 17 minutes of second half and was quickly followed a minute later by a third. Another fine all round team display was finished off in style when a flowing passing move resulted in a fourth goal.
The final score of the final game of the season was 4-0 to Twin Oaks. With Cranleigh Cobras losing their last game against eventual division winners Storrington Vipers on the following Saturday, Twin Oaks had secured a well deserved third place in the league.
